EICR & Consumer Unit Replacement

Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

Homeowners should get their electrics checked at least every 10 years, and with the recent change in legislation landlords must get them checked every 5 years or change of occupancy. This is a health check on the electrical installation like an MOT on a car. We record a number of observations in line with the BS 7671 regulations and make various recommendations where improvement may be necessary for the safety of your home. You will then be provided with a quote for any remedial work to bring it up to standard.
£120 + VAT for 1-2 bedroom flat/small house
£180 + VAT for 3-4 bedrooms flat/house
£220 + VAT 4 bedroom larger house
For more information please read our EICR Certificate blog

Consumer Unit/Fuse Board Replacement

The consumer unit (commonly referred to as a fuse board) is the central point at which mains electricity enters your property and distributes power to individual circuits. We strongly recommend that an EICR is carried out before a consumer unit replacement as this will highlight any problems that may occur and see if the installation is able to deal with the upgrade. The standard ones we fit are RCBO boards with integrated surge protection, these type of boards separate faults to individual circuits so if an earth fault occurs half your house doesn’t turn off like that of an RCD board.
On completion you will receive an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) and a building control notification from your local council.
